“Don’t Slip Up!” Document, Document, Document… (Incident Reports)

“Don’t Slip Up!” Document, Document, Document… (Incident Reports)

Here are some useful tips to enforce accurate incident reports:

1) COMPREHENSIVE INCIDENT REPORT PROCEDURE
-Have a form your employees fill out at the time of an incident, which includes:
*Date and Time of incident
*Name(s) of involved individuals
*Details of the incident
(SAMPLE INCIDENT REPORT – CLICK HERE!)

2) RESTROOM CLEANING LOG
-Used to thoroughly document each cleaning, which helps reduce the risk of possibly fraudulent claims.

3) COMPARE DETAILS
-Does the customer’s claim mention a wet floor? A spill or a mess?
-If so, and your cleaning log documents a clean restroom, you have a strong case against this claim, which is possibly fraudulent.
*If the fall takes place outside of a restroom, you can compare the customer’s claim against your business’ security cameras.

Make sure your employees always fill out an incident report RIGHT AWAY after an incident, and collect as much accurate and useful information as possible.

Also, a regularly up-kept cleaning log routine can keep your claims record clean, as well as your restroom!
