Non-Owned Auto – Delivery

Non-Owned Auto – Delivery

Continuing last week’s topic of Non-Owned Auto Third Party Liability

Another important aspect of “Non-Owned Auto” insurance for business owners is delivery.

Unlike errand-runs during work hours in their own vehicles, delivery by your employees in their own vehicles is NOT included in your optional “Non-Owned Auto” coverage.

If your employees perform deliveries for your business, in order to get insurance coverage, you MUST purchase a separate Non-Owned Auto – Delivery policy to be covered!

This coverage protects you from Third-Party Liability in the event of your driver hitting another car while delivering for your business.

DON’T FORGET:
Know your Delivery Drivers – Check their:
– Driver’s License – Is it current and valid?
– Auto Insurance – Is their policy current and enforced?
– Motor Vehicle Reports – COOPERS INSURANCE AGENCY WILL GLADLY REQUEST A MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT FOR YOU!

Last week, we discussed how a business owner is vulnerable when an employee drives their own vehicle during work hours for business purposes – specifically for running errands – and steps to take to protect your business against third party liability.
